The good news? Atende was ready to act fast. They cut off the server that was broken into and added extra security steps. One example is making sure everyone accessing their system uses two steps to log in, which is safer.
They even had experts from outside the company look over their systems to check everything and make sure their defenses are strong.
Atende chose not to pay the cyber criminals any money. They believe that if you give in, it only encourages more crime. It’s a tough choice, but they’re standing strong against the bad guys. They also warned that if anyone tried to share the stolen info, there would be serious legal problems.
