Industry trade groups still have ‘concerns’ with cyber reporting mandate

Hey there! Let’s chat about something super important that’s been happening. There’s this agency called the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, or CISA for short. They’re like the superheroes that help keep our important places and systems – things like water plants, power grids, and hospitals – safe from bad cyber-attacks.

But recently, a bunch of organizations (21 of them to be exact) that look after these vital areas got together to voice a concern. They reached out to a key person at CISA, Jen Easterly, with a pretty big request. These groups want CISA to rethink some of their plans, to make sure they’re doing the best job at protecting our critical stuff.

These organizations are important because they understand what’s needed to keep things running smoothly and safely. They think that some of the rules and ways CISA wants to protect our infrastructure have room for improvement. They’re asking for a timeout to make sure everything is on the right track.

Their goal is to make the rules better, so that everyone – from the toughest security experts to everyday people – knows how to keep things secure without making it too complicated or hard to manage. They even made their thoughts public, hoping to work with CISA to keep our communities safe.

This conversation is super important because it’s all about making our world more secure. By speaking up, these groups are helping to ensure that safety measures are practical, smart, and doable.
